Techno-Economic and Off-Design Analysis of Two CO2 Purification Units for Low-Carbon Cement Plants with Oxy-Fuel Calcination

This paper presents the techno-economic assessment of CO2 Purification Unit (CPU) included in cement plants based on capture via oxy-fuel calcination. Two configurations, targeting two different outlet specifications (‘moderate’ and ‘high’ purity), have been optimized order to minimize increase clinker production cost due this process unit. Air infiltration rate is parameter with highest impact operational conditions (e.g. separation pressure) incremental CPU (up 20% for worst case considered). The work has carried out within framework CLEANKER project.
